The region
The "grid-city" offers plenty that is beautiful and worth seeing, and there is plenty more in the neighbouring Rhine and Neckar regions.

The Rhine Neckar metropolitan region, which is recognised by the European Union, stretches from Absteinach to Zwingenberg.
As one of the most important economic locations in Germany, the region shows impressive development potential: socially, economically and culturally. It is home to countless multinational companies. The universities and other institutions enjoy an international reputation - not least because of the many inventions which have travelled and are still travelling all over the world.
Even the approx. 2.3 million people who live here make the region something quite unique. Perhaps it is the connection between the 3 states - Baden Württemburg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse.
Perhaps it is the unique harmony between breakthrough and tradition. Or perhaps the unlimited variety of the whole region.
